The locals’ belief circulating indicates that during his summer sojourns in the hills of Nagarkot the Rana Prime Minister’s eyes fell on a pretty hill belle.

His intense love for this petite lady whom he named Bhangeri (diminutive) resulted in building a durbar (palace) for her.

Perhaps, some remains of the durbar could still be found inside the now existing army barracks in the hills.
